Home sales in Renfrew County are down to start 2018.

In March 81 properties were sold this year, which is down over 28% from March 2017.

Kim Bourne, President of the Renfrew County Real Estate Board says that one of the reasons for the decline has been the weather, and says it’s no indication of how sales in the future will be.

Also down is the number of homes sold in the first three months of the year, as 2018 is about 16% lower than the first three months of 2017.

The price of homes sold in March was also a bit lower, down 0.9% compared to March 2017. The average price of a home sold last month was just over $237,000.

Bourne says some areas of the county see more sales at certain times of year, and is anticipating a swing of sales in the next few months.
