Eight students in a local youth employment program have graduated this afternoon.

A more than $97,000 Service Canada grant has helped Access Work Service fund the Skills Link program.  It offers certifications, job training and 16 week work placements to those who are facing employment barriers.  The graduates worked with employers from Barry’s Bay, Combermere, Palmer Rapids and Bancroft, including the Township of Madawaska Valley, Links to Health, the Vintage Shoppe, the Balmoral Hotel, Kaszuby Cleaners and more.

The ceremony was at Activities+ in Barry’s Bay.
