Killaloe Sawmill Getting 5.5 Million Dollars from Government

Over 100 jobs in Killaloe will be maintained because of some provincial funding.

Ben Hokum and Sons Ltd. is getting 5.5 million dollars over five years from the province to upgrade and modernize its sawmill. According to the province, this will help maintain 101 of its current jobs while adding five new jobs.

The province says this funding will also increase production capacity and competitiveness while ensuring resources are managed sustainably.

Ben Hokum and Sons opened in 1956 in Killaloe and is considered one of the prominent sawmills in Eastern Ontario.
