Another fire has prompted the Madawaska Valley Fire Department to warn residents to clear their chimneys.

Fire Chief Corwin Quade says the fire broke out last Sunday night on Siberia Road.

He says 14 firefighters were on scene within seven minutes of receiving the call, showing a stark improvement in response times.

Creosote build-up in chimneys have been the culprit for a number of fires in the last few weeks.

Quade is stressing the importance of having working smoke and carbon monoxide detectors in your home.
