Renovations to the Combermere Community Centre have improved its energy efficiency, facilities and accessibility.
Its grand opening on Saturday drew in residents, council, our local MP and local organizations.
Madawaska Valley’s mayor, Kim Love says MP Cheryl Gallant played a big role in securing the federal funding for the renovations.
Recreation and Community Development Coordinator Paul Nopper says a new roof, furnace, lift system and a completely overhauled basement are some of the major improvements to the facility.
The event was wrapped by a demonstration from the Combermere Karate Club and with presentations from the Palmer Rapids Lion’s Club, the Combermere Rec Committee and the local Friendship club.
