A complaint about the state of Combermere Hall earlier this summer and led to a few changes at the hall by the Madawaska Valley Township.

The complaint came from Dianne Prince, who said the hall wasn’t clean when she had rented it for a family reunion in June, and that older relatives had to be carried upstairs in wheelchairs because the elevator was broken.

Since then, the township has had the elevator fixed, and determined the cause for the break was an electrical issue.

Prince has been refunded 50 percent of the rental rate she paid, and the township has issued her an apology.
