A new campaign being introduced will promote the importance of 911 signs on a rural properties.
Information about ‘Farm 911: The Emily Project’ was presented to Hastings Highlands Council today, about why vacant properties and those with buildings should all have visible 911 signs.
Ontario Federation of Agriculture Members Services Representative Resi Walt says the goal is for all rural properties to have these signs at all entrances in order to make them safer.
Hastings Federation of Agriculture Vice President Mark Slack says emergency services will have digital access to 911 location information through the county’s Geographic Information System.
The project will be rolled out in Hastings, Prince Edward, Lennox and Addington, and Northumberland counties.
It will officially be launched at the Hastings County Plowing Match in August.
