Provincial Highway Deaths Spike

The OPP says it’s seen a huge spike in road deaths linked to speed and aggressive driving.

Killaloe OPP Constable Catharine Yarmel says that issue hits home given the influx of traffic to the region ever summer.

The OPP says 27 people have been killed on Ontario highways, nearly double compared to last year.

The reported spike in deaths comes as local police forces have also seen an increase in wildlife collisions, especially in Algonquin Park.
