Our local Lions Clubs are celebrating big milestones as the Canadian arm of the organization is celebrating its 100th year across Canada.
Recreation and Community Development Coordinator Paul Nopper says The Killaloe, Palmer Rapids and Madawaska Valley clubs play major roles in volunteering, fundraising and in community projects.
The Madawaska Valley Lions are responsible for the annual Santa Clause Parade, one of the largest winter events held in the area.
Recently, the Killaloe and Area Lions have been helping out flood victims by holding free-meal events and donating vouchers for gasoline, laundry and fresh water.
