Campaign to Fight Illegal Garbage Dumping Gaining Steam

The Township of Madawaska Valley is considering giving its support to a grass-roots campaign which has grown across the province.

The initiative to combat illegal dumping was originally formed in Bancroft in partnership with Crime Stoppers and the MNRF after major concerns were raised by residents.

The Bancroft Stewardship Council has led the charge in the campaign to combat illegal dumping of garbage on public lands.

Madawaska Valley’s Operations Committee says it’s an issue rural communities in the region have faced before.
