Hastings Health Unit Talking Youth Road-Safety

Hastings and Prince Edward Public Health wants local youth to stay safe when walking, cycling, skateboarding, and scootering.

This comes as the health unit is recognizing Parachute Safe Kids Week across Hastings and Prince Edward counties.

The health unit says kids can stay safe by wearing the proper gear and knowing how to navigate their neighbourhoods when traveling to school, to the bus stops, or around the area.

The health unit says 4,700 kids are hurt each year from non-motorized wheeled activities, while another 2,400 are hurt as pedestrians.
