The Township of Madawaska Valley is doing more assessments before deciding on applying to the Municipal Disaster Recovery Assistance Program.

Operations Manager Hilary Kutchkoskie says the costs of recent flooding total over $100,000 but engineering reports will have to be produced to see if the township will qualify for assistance.

Mayor Kim Love says the township will be assessing damage to areas like the Barry’s Bay and Combermere wharfs, Crooked Slide Park and the Mask Island causeway.
