Communities and businesses across Canada — including locally — are lighting up in purple and blue today (Oct. 15) to recognize National Disability Employment Awareness Month.
Officials say they’re showing support for inclusive employment, adding just over a quarter (27 per cent) of Canadians have a disability. They say creating accessible and inclusive workplaces isn’t just the right thing to do, it brings valuable perspectives, skills and opportunities to businesses and communities.
More than 160 locations in Ontario are participating including Agilec, a career and employment services provider located on Opeongo Line in Barry’s Bay.
