Schreader ‘humbled and honoured’ to receive special dedication

Renfrew County Catholic District School Board has presented a special dedication to Bob Schreader for four decades of contributions.

The board said in a media release that trustees and senior administration chose to name the connecting corridor between the new daycare and the Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic School the Bob Schreader Link.

Father Holly from Our Lady of Lourdes Parish attended the dedication and blessed the space.

Schreader recently championed the establishment of the new daycare.

Soon to conclude his role as board chair, Schreader said he was humbled and honoured to receive the dedication.

“I have always been, and always will be, passionate about Catholic education. Although my time in office may be coming to an end, my passion for educating students’ hearts and minds in the way of Christ will never waver.”

Schreader, a board member since elected as a trustee in 1988, has chaired the board’s business and corporate services and educational services committees.

The board noted he led a high-impact community campaign in 1997 that successfully prevented the province’s proposed merger with an Ottawa school board, maintaining regional governance and representation.
