Canadian Blood Services is looking for 22 more donors for its clinic in Bancroft today.

The service says it is hoping to collect 72 units of blood today.

Director of Donor Relations for Ontario Michael Betel says the service also has a need for more donations of both O and A blood types, and could use those donations today.

Betel says the service also wants new donors to sign-up.

He says CBS will need around 100,000 new donors in the region by next year to help meet targets.

Betel says it’s also important to remember September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, and says there are about 10,000 Canadian kids suffering from cancer who need blood.

The blood donation clinic is happening at the Bancroft Pentecostal Tabernacle from 1:30pm until 6:30pm.
