Township Completes Purchase of Former School Grounds

The Township of Madawaska Valley has completed its purchase of the Sherwood Public School property.

The school’s students and staff will be making their new home at the Madawaska Valley District High School in September.

The township says the total costs of the purchase are around $150,000, not yet including taxes and other costs.

Mayor Kim Love says the town is making the investment into the school with the intent of using it to fill a health services role.

Madawaska council did mention the property will be part of the community’s healthcare village.

The money used to purchase the property came from the Invest in Ontario fund.
