More snowmobile trails have opened up

Snowmobile clubs have been working hard with this weekend’s snow to get the trails groomed. Moose FM spoke with Steve Lang of the Maple Leaf Snow Skimmers about their progress.

“We’ve opened up our rail trail which goes from Bancroft to Whitney and the club to the South of us.” Said Lang. “Old Hastings snow Riders have done the same, and they’ve opened up some trails. Opeongo Snowbirds out of Barry’s Bay opened up their trails from Whitney to Wilno, so there’s a fair amount of open trails.”

Lang also said that the snow the area received Friday and Saturday mixed well with the slush from Wednesday, making for a good material to pack the trails.

For more information on trail status check your local clubs facebook page, or the Ontario Federation Of Snowmobile Clubs interactive Trail Guide.
