Committee of the Whole looking into boardwalk project and water and sewer contracts during today’s meeting

Bancroft’s Committee of the Whole will be looking into a motion to see the town’s riverside boardwalk completed.

A motion is asking the town send letters to property owners against the project to ask them to reconsider their position. The motion also outlines that the incomplete boardwalk reflects poorly on the town.

The Committee will also be looking into alternatives for the town’s sewer and water contracts.

A motion sets out the increasing costs under the Ontario Clean Water Association’s contract cannot be sustained. The motion is asking the town to put out RFPs for possible alternatives for running and maintaining the systems.

The discussions will be held during the committee meeting at 9:00am this morning at Club 580.
