What should the big school in Barry’s Bay be called?
If you have an idea, now’s the time to get it in.
A process to find a new name for the building that houses Madawaska Valley District High School and Sherwood Public School is underway.
Students in the high school and elementary school have shared the same Waska Way building for six years, but the Renfrew County District School Board has only just recently merged the two schools, so that they’re now officially under one administration.

A renaming committee has been formed and is seeking public input up to Nov. 3.
Forms for providing input are available at local schools and post offices.
A new name will be recommended to the school board in January.
