Lots of Canada Day celebrations in Renfrew County

The Canada Day weekend is upon us and there’s lots of fun stuff happening in our region on Saturday, when the country turns 156 years old. 

Activities are taking place at the Barry’s Bay Legion from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. That includes a barbecue and music.  And The Railway Station will be open to showcase new biographies.

There’s also a celebration at Wilno Heritage Park, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., featuring games and heritage exhibits.

Killaloe will be a busy place, too. It’s celebration includes its rubber duck race at Brennans Creek at 2 p.m. and music takes place at St. Andrew’s Catholic School from 3 p.m. on.

Bonnechere Valley also has a full line up of events, with several activities happening at Eganville Arena from 12 noon to 4 p.m. 

And North Algona Wilberforce’s celebration takes place at Melissa Bishop Park from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. It features music, a scavenger hunt and beach volleyball.
