April is almost here and that means a ban on daytime burning will be in effect.
Madawaska Valley has an open air burning ban from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. each day, from April 1 through October.
Fire Chief Corwin Quade says those who want to burn at night can do so, but they need to apply for a permit.
A permit costs $10 and is good for five days. But those in violation could face fines of up to $615.
