Renfrew County’s MP says she hopes Canadians will put pressure on the Liberals to make life more affordable.
Cheryl Gallant, the Conservative MP for Renfrew-Nippissing-Pembroke, says the Liberals budget shows no financial restraint. Gallant says the healthcare industry is on the verge of collapse, inflation is raging, and interest rates are rising at the expense of Canadians.
“We’re going to have people who’ve finally saved enough up to buy a home, just taking their keys and dropping it off at their mortgage lender’s desk, because their payments are more than what their house is worth,” she says.
Gallant says the Conservative Party needs people who are upset to speak up.
She says the situation will continue as long as the Liberal-NDP coalition stays in place and her party will not be making any deals with what she calls the “socialist NDP.”
