Kanata Lasers CCHL Team to Transfer to Renfrew

The Town of Renfrew will be getting its own Junior A hockey team.
The Central Canada Hockey League has finalised the sale and transfer of the Kanata Lasers hockey club to Renfrew. The team will relocate to the town in the 2020-21 season, and will be known as the Renfrew Wolves.
CCHL Commissioner Kevin Abrams says that this represents full circle for the the CCHL’s plan to expand the league and relocate city teams to outside markets. He said that Renfrew is a vibrant community that will embrace everything that CCHL hockey is about. Abrams says that this represents full circle for the the League’s plan to expand and relocate city teams to outside markets. He says that this expansion and relocation project has been 12 years in the making, with expansions in Kemptville and Carleton Place and relocation of a team from Gloucester to Rockland.
The Renfew Wolves are now owned by Jim Seyers and Ryan Leonard.
