You’re welcomed to talk about your loss in a safe place.

That’s coming from Madawaska Valley Hospice Palliative Care (MVHPC) who are inviting you to join their 6-week grief support group starting on Wednesday.

Dawn Cruchet, Certified Grief Educator and Co-facilitator of the group, says that no matter how long it’s been since you’ve experienced a loss, it’s never too late to go through the process of grieving. “What I try to do is give people a non-judgemental and confidential safe place where people can talk, everyone gets it, they are all connected by the pain of the experience,” she says.

Cruchet says every session comes with a theme “I like to give people the chance to tell their story” but adds that no one will be pressured to talk or do anything they don’t wish to do.

“Time means nothing” Cruchet adds when discussing the importance of finding the time to go through the process of grieving adding that it doesn’t matter when you lost someone. “Sometimes you don’t have time to feel the experience you’re going through” she says. No matter how long ago your loss was, 1 year, 5 years, 10 years, she says the support group is beneficial to everyone.

Joining is free and it starts Wednesday, May 15th and takes place once a week till June 19th. The sessions will start at 1:00 and go till 3:00 at the Ashgrove Inn Fireside Lounge. The sessions will be co-facilitated by Lucy King. For more information and to register, please call 613-756-3045 ext. 350.
