OPP Warns of Flood Scams

The OPP wants people to do their research before donating to a local flooding cause.

Although there have been no reports of it in the area, the OPP is raising awareness about scammers using local flooding as a ruse to take your money.

Under the circumstances, the OPP is suggesting that anyone looking to donate to those affected by the flooding do their research before giving. According to the detachment, you’re being encouraged to contact the food bank or a local community organization before giving material or money donations.

News Even though I hail from Montreal, I'm not a bad person! My parents tell me I was born with a microphone in my hand. From recording music with my band to doing stand up comedy to hosting weddings and corporate events and doing radio, I treat a microphone better than some of my family members (they know who they are). Over the last few years I have had the chance to host a radio show on CJLO 1690 AM and complete an internship at CJAD 800 in Montreal. Needless to say I'm a music nut and love talking to people. If you see a lanky redhead walking around, don't be shy and come say hi!
