Environment Canada has released a Special weather statement in effect for:

  • Barry’s Bay – Killaloe
  • Petawawa – Pembroke – Cobden
  • Renfrew – Arnprior – Calabogie

They say that a significant rainfall is expected today and tonight.

A strong low pressure system will track over Northeastern Ontario today. Rain ahead of this system will begin this morning or midday before tapering to scattered showers Friday.

They add that a total rainfall amounts of 20 to 40 mm are possible with the heaviest rain falling this afternoon and tonight.

The ground, already near saturation, has a lessened ability to absorb further rainfall they say. Localized flooding in low-lying areas is possible.

For information concerning flooding, please consult your local conservation authority or Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry District Office or click here.
