Environment Canada has reported that there will be a significant snowfall this afternoon and tonight in Renfrew County.
They say that snow associated with an approaching low pressure system is expected to move into the area this afternoon and persist into the overnight hours. Some areas may see snowfall amounts of 10 to 15 cm.
They add that snow may be accompanied by ice pellets before changing to rain overnight. There is also a risk of freezing rain during the changeover.
Motorists are urged to exercise caution as road conditions may be poor at times.
