Ontario Public Library Week a Success

Ontario Public Library week has already come and gone and your Madawaska Valley Public Library want to thank you!

After another successful year, CEO of the Madawaska Valley Public Library, Karen Filipkowski, mentions that many people have had their library fines waived off by donating a non-perishable food item. She states that in the process, they have collected a large container of food cans and boxes that will be donated to the Madawaska Valley Food Bank. The library’s volunteer appreciation day was also a great success as many volunteers and community members showed up. The volunteers were thanked as they accompanied the public to a serving (or two) of cake and refreshments.

Filipkowski also informed us that their “tell us your story” submission period has been extended for 2 weeks.

As they thank you for participating in Ontario Public Library Week, don’t be shy to thank them back by visiting their website and tell them your story on why you appreciate your library.
