Driver of Motor-Assisted Bicycle Charged With Impaired Driving

Upper Ottawa Valley OPP charged a man riding a motor-assisted bicycle with impaired driving.

Wednesday afternoon Upper Ottawa Valley OPP stopped a man driving a motor-assisted bicycle at Airport Road and Petawawa Boulevard in Petawawa. The report says they determined he was under the influence as well as not wearing a helmet.

67 year old Michael John O’Heare was charged as a result. He’s been charged with driving while ability impaired by alcohol and fair or refuse to provide breath sample. He was also charged under the Highway Traffic Act for failing to wear a proper helmet on a motor-assisted bicycle.

He was released on a promise to appear in court in October.
