Town Reminding You to Make Sure Your Name is on Voters’ List

The town sent out a notice reminding you to make sure your name is on the voters’ list.

You qualify as an elector if, as of voting day, you live in the local municipality, are the owner or tenant of land in the municipality or the spouse of someone that does. You also have to be a Canadian citizen and 18 years old.

If you need to have your name added, removed or changed from the voters’ list, you need to send an application to the town Clerk. The form for that is available at the Municipal Office at 85 Bay Street. You can also email the Clerk at [email protected] between today and voting day on October 22nd. The town urges you to do this soon because mail-in ballots will be sent out on the 14th to the address listed under your name, unless it’s changed before then.

You’ll need to provide ID and proof of residence. If you’re not handing in the application in-person, you’ll need to attach a certified copy showing ID and proof of residence.

The Municipal election is October 22nd.
