Welcome to our live coverage of the Ontario election.

The 2025 Provincial Election is well underway with polls to close in about an hour across Ontario.

Almost 11 million people were eligible to vote in todays election.

Only six per cent of eligible voters cast an early ballot in advance voting.

Forty-four per cent of eligible voters cast a ballot in 2022, the lowest turnout ever for an Ontario provincial election.

Many are predicting a similar or lower turnout today.

Renfrew-Nipissing-Pembrooke

In the running for the Renfrew-Nipissing-Pembrooke riding are:

  • PC Party of Ontario: Billy Denault
  • Ontario NDP: Marshall Buchanan
  • Ontario Liberal Party: Oliver Jacob
  • Green Party of Ontario: Anna Maria Dolan
  • New Blue Party of Ontario: Mark Dickson
  • Ontario Party: Kevin Holm

And while we wait for those results to start roiling in, we take a look back on the last election.

The PC’s were elected to a majority government in June of 2022.

They swept into power in 2018 with its first majority government after defeating the Liberals.

Polls suggest another majority is waiting in the wings for the Conservatives tonight.

In 2022 John Yakabuski won with 61 per cent of the vote, in second was the DP with 17 percent of the vote and third was liberal Oliver Jacob with 9.77-Jacob is the only one of the three running in this year’s election, and this is the first time this decade Yakabuski isn’t on the ballot.

Stay tuned as we continue to bring the latest in the Provincial Election and follow along on our websites as results roll-in and voters pick the members of the 44th parliament of Ontario.
