Increase in Calls for Service for Madawaska Valley Fire Department After One Year of Pandemic

After a year of people staying at home due to the pandemic, Madawaska Valley Fire Department has said there has been an increase in calls for service.

However, the majority of these were calls made when the provincial fire ban was in place, for people not adhering to regulations. They have also had a major issue with chimney fires over the last year, such as the one that happened earlier this week.

With daylight savings time happening this Sunday, the Fire Department is urging residents to check their fire alarms to make sure they are in good working order.
