The first day of inclusion in Barry's Bay is aiming to make the job hunt easier for those facing employment barriers.
Three Barry's Bay organizations came together to host the first Employment First – the Key to Social Inclusion day yesterday.  The goal was to get employers, job seekers, agencies and the community talking about the benefits of hiring workers with disabilities. The day kicked-off with a business owners' breakfast, followed by afternoon presentations and an evening presentation by Executive Director of the Ontario Disabilities Employment Network Joe Dale.

President of Access Work Service Jim Mahaffy says it's about showing how people with disabilities can contribute to local workplaces.

Director of Tyerman and Daughters Inc. Rural Outreach Employment Services Maggie Tyerman says it's important to focus on the worker's abilities and skills.
