National Cupcake Day Helping to Raise Money for SPCAs and Humane Societies

Local OSPCAs are receiving a great deal of support as part of a national campaign centered around yesterday’s annual Cupcake Day event.

You can bake cupcakes in exchange for donations.

OSPCA Community Service and Crime Prevention Officer Ann Maika says even though it’s a national campaign, whatever you donate is used locally.

To date the effort has raised over $1.8 million nation-wide, which equals to about 80,000 cupcakes baked and over 3,000 animals directly helped.

The proceeds go to local OSPCAs and humane societies to help with animal healthcare, housing, food and other services.
