Environment Canada is forecasting a dramatic shift in the weather, with temperatures going above the freezing mark this week.
Meteorologist Geoff Coulson says this is a stark contrast to the extremely cold weather the area has experienced since Boxing Day. Coulson explains the temperature this week will even go above the normal daytime high of minus five.
Coulson says the cold snap in the area held of most of the snow for quite some time. Now with milder weather in the forecast, he says precipitation could be on the way.

While we will be heading back into colder-than-usual weather starting this weekend, Coulson says mild temperatures will be back about halfway through next week.
