Renfrew County is set to receive more than $372,000 to put towards developing cycling trails in 2017/2018.
The province says this is part of a $93-million investment into active transportation this year. The money comes from the province’s cap and trade program.
Along with the investment into Renfrew County as a whole, 11 individual municipalities within its borders will also be splitting an extra $339,000. Warden Jennifer Murphy says this funding will help promote tourism and make Renfrew County a trail destination for years to come, while encouraging active transportation for residents.

Hastings County did not receive any funding as part of the investment. However, there will be more chances to apply over the next three years.
