Madawaska Valley Reminding Residents To Watch Water Meters Regularly

The Madawaska Valley Township is reminding residents to keep a close eye on their water meters.

The township says monitoring your water meter regularly is great for keeping your bills as low as possible.

According to the township, the leading cause for high bills are undetected leaks which usually start with toilets that aren’t working properly. You can find out if you have leaks by checking to see if your meter is showing water usage when you aren’t running water.

The best way to check for a toilet leak is to put food colouring in the toilet tank, and to see if it appears in the toilet bowl within 30 minutes.
