A Bancroft OPP officer will not face criminal charges after an SIU investigation into an Amber Alert.
In April 2016, local officers were made aware of an Amber Alert stemming from Aurora, in which a 35-year-old man allegedly abducted his four-year- old daughter.
The vehicle crashed near Pembroke later that day, and the man and his daughter were seriously hurt.

Special Investigations Unit Director Tony Loparco released a report on the investigation, saying the man was not being chased by police at the time of the crash.
Because of this, Loparco says there are no reasonable grounds to lay criminal charges against a Bancroft OPP officers involved in the case.
