Despite much warmer than average temperatures, the Madawaska Valley Township won’t be issuing a fire ban anytime soon.
That’s according the Fire Chief Corwin Quade, who is in-charge of fire bans and issuing fines for not following fire guidelines in the township.
Quade says he won’t be putting on a fire ban anytime soon despite the warm temperatures, and that the fire status will remain at nighttime burning only.

Quade is also reminding residents that having a fire without a permit is a $200 fine, and if the fire department is needed to put a fire out, it costs $1000 an hour.
