The Canadian Track and Field Championships in Ottawa saw a pair of local runners finishing in the top 10 in their respective races.
Jonathan Stoppa, who attends Madawaska Valley District High School in Barry’s Bay, finished 10th in the under-20 5k race, after leading for the first half.
Meanwhile, Eganville’s Melissa Bishop captured her fourth Canadian title in the 800-metre race with a time just over two minutes.

Bishop is now off to London, England to compete in the World Track and Field Championships, where she won silver in 2015.
