Local Runners Place Well At Canadian Track And Field Championships

The Canadian Track and Field Championships in Ottawa saw a pair of local runners finishing in the top 10 in their respective races.

Jonathan Stoppa, who attends Madawaska Valley District High School in Barry’s Bay, finished 10th in the under-20 5k race, after leading for the first half.

Meanwhile, Eganville’s Melissa Bishop captured her fourth Canadian title in the 800-metre race with a time just over two minutes.
