Renfrew-Nipissing-Pembroke MPP John Yakabuski is sounding off on a proposed change by the province which could affect many rural residents.
The province is looking at implementing new legislation forcing anyone with a septic tank to get it pumped every five years.
Yakabuski says anyone who owns a septic system knows that’s not necessarily required.

The change could have an impact on the wallets of rural residents as pumping a septic tank can be an expensive operation.
Yakabuski is asking Ontario’s Minister of Municipal Affairs, Bill Mauro, to consult with people living in rural Ontario.
