Some snowmobile trails could soon be open, with limited availability from Bancroft through Maynooth, to Lake Saint Peter.
Maple Leaf Snow Skimmers Snowmobile Club Trails Coordinator Chris Helkaa says grooming and compacting has already started, in the hopes of opening trails.
The Opeongo Snowbirds are in similar shape as cold temperatures and significant snowfall in the Madawaska Valley and Whitney have helped in grooming operations and freezing over crossings.

If we get the snow being forecasted for this weekend, some snowmobile trails could be open next week.
Helkaa is asking that you wait until OFSC trails are officially open before heading out.
