Community groups and organizations are coming together in the Madawaska Valley for Canada’s 150th celebrations.
Recreation and Community Development Coordinator Paul Nopper says the celebration is being divvied up into areas like heritage, culture, sports, programs, events and activities.
A draft calendar was presented at last night’s meeting which covered the entirety of the next year.

Nopper says events which represent the spirit of the region like a hunting themed festival, and expansions of Bay Day and the C-O Blitz will be highlights of the year.
Over 30 local groups and organizations have been tapped by the township to play major roles in the celebration.
