Residents are taking a stand over violence against women by taking part in a march through Bancroft today.
The National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women is held on December 6th each year.
Executive Director of Maggie’s Resource Centre Tanya MacKinnon says, since the murders of three women in Wilno in September 2015, the march and vigil has grown to include more organizations.

MacKinnon wants to see everyone in our community take a stand against violence against women.
She says domestic violence continues to be a major problem in many communities.
MacKinnon is encouraging both men and women to take a stand against violence against women.
Today’s march starts at a Place for the Arts at 3:30.
