One of the oldest Christmas traditions in the Madawaska Valley continues tonight.
Executive Director of the St. Francis Valley Healthcare Foundation Toni Lavigne-Conway says it’s a great way for the community to ring in the holidays and it helps to raise money for the local hospital.
Residents can make donations to add a bulb to the tree throughout December.

Lavigne-Conway says many use it as a way to remember someone who has been cared for at the hospital, or from residents themselves who have been treated there.
The lighting ceremony begins at 6:30pm at the Railway Station in Barry’s Bay.
