A first draft of a comprehensive 20-year plan for the Madawaska Valley’s fire services has been presented by Fire Chief Corwin Quade.
It outlines everything from new flashlights needed in the next decade to major projects and infrastructure needs for the township’s two fire-halls.
The township’s Fire and Protection Committee were in agreement corners can’t be cut when it comes to emergency services’ safety.

Quade was transparent regarding hidden costs from the county in new communications framework, which other chiefs and the fire marshal’s office have been deliberating over.
The needs of the fire department will be deferred to discussion in council and further considered at budget time.
