Case of Animal Cruelty Prompting Police in Reaching out to Public

The Killaloe OPP are looking to the public for help in a severe case of animal cruelty.

Police say they investigated an area in Algonquin Park after receiving a call a dog was found dead on a game preserve.

The OPP says it found the dog with a radio collar attached for tracking deer, shot in the head and disposed of on the park grounds.

Hunting is prohibited in the area the dog’s body was found.

Police say they have reason to believe someone in the area may have information in the case and the Crime Stoppers lines for anonymous tips are open 24-hours-a-day.
