Beginning today, soldiers from Garrison Petawawa’s 2 Service Battalion will be conducting training exercises in parts of Renfrew County.
Lieutenant Daniel Mazurek says the battalion will be training in areas near Ranch Lake, Cobden, the Rolph Airfield, Chock River, Deep River, Beachburg and Pembroke.
Mazurek says residents may notice an increase in military vehicles and uniformed soldiers in those areas.
The military is also letting residents know not to be alarmed by increased noise as it’s only blank ammunition and pyrotechnic devices used in the drills.
The exercises wrap up on November 7th and if residents in those areas have any concerns or questions they can contact the garrison directly.
