Natural gas could be coming to Renfrew County, but it won’t be until the far future.
The Ontario Federation of Agriculture has teamed up with the Eastern and Western Ontario Warden’s Caucus to tell the government why rural Ontario needs access to natural gas energy.
OFA President Don McCabe says this would save people more than $1 billion annually in energy savings.

McCabe says those savings could be put towards our economy and create jobs.
He says accessible energy for farms, residents and businesses will be a game changer.
It’s estimated it could take 20 years to meet rural Ontario’s natural gas demands.
