A Hastings Highlands Councillor has passed away.
The municipality’s website says Councillor Mike Leveque passed away on Monday.
Leveque was born and raised in Monteagle, and attended Maynooth Public School and North Hastings High School as a youth.

He moved to Oshawa afterwards, where he worked at General Motors of Canada, and held many elected positions in the city.
When Leveque retired, he returned to Hastings Highlands, and held four council terms, along with being the municipality’s deputy mayor.
Leveque was a member of the municipal dog board, along with being an elected board member for the ANAF.
The municipality also extends sympathy to his wife, Anne, his son, his daughter, and the rest of his family.
